Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Okay, so I know it has taken me forever to write about the movie, and that is only because I was a bit disappointed with how it came out.

Out of ALL the Twilight books, my favorite is Eclipse, because it's when Edward comes back for Bella. Jacob was pushed to the side, I feel for him, but Edward and Bella, belong together.

Like I said above, I was so disappointed with the movie. If it weren't for Taylor Lautner, the movie would have sucked big time. I guess the change in director is to blame yet again, I wish Chris Weitz directed this film too, because among all the Twilight movies, New Moon was by far the best among all of them. It was the closest to the book and that is what is awesome about it, the movie didn't deviate so much from the plot. Twilight takes the second place. Eclipse was so far off from the book, I cringed every time a scene was wrong or a scene was missing or was changed. I understand that the movie was timed and therefore shortcuts will be taken, however, if you cut so much from a whole, you end up with a lot of crumbs that don't really make sense. You know? Although the movie made a bit of sense, people who have not read the book will misinterpret the characters' feelings and thoughts because it was not properly explained. For example, in the movie, people who have not read the book may misinterpret Edward's reasons for not telling Bella about the encounter between Paul and Emmett, in the movie, it may look like he was worried he'd take the wolves' side when in fact in the book, he didn't tell her because he knew she'd freak out. It also didn't help that Kristen Stewart has no tear ducts because by that time, Bella should have been bawling and hyperventilating and sobbing uncontrollably. Also, the scene where Jacob tells her about the encounter between Paul and Emmett and the scene where she hops on the bike with Jacob ditching school were two different scenarios and in the movie it was merged. The movie made it look like Edward was a loser and I freakin' hate it. That part in the mountain where Bella asks Jacob to kiss her was not explained well at all, and people who have not read the book judged Bella right away. In a bad way. She wasn't cheating on Edward, she did it to save Jacob from himself because he threatened to hurt himself. They should have explained why she did it, after all, it's not like the people who haven't read the book read Jacob's mind like Edward, which is why he wasn't mad at Bella. Also, Edward was partly to blame for the kiss, you'd know that if you read the book. I was also so looking forward to the fight scene between Victoria and Edward, whiItalicch was so awesome in the book, and it was not shown well in the movie. I was truly very disappointed.

However, an almost naked Taylor Lautner, made it all worth it. LOL.

I hope Breaking Dawn comes out awesome, I hear they are doing it in 2 parts, so I hope they don't miss anything. I really hope Stephenie Meyer would be more of a critic and stop being so startstruck by the actors, she should tell Kristen Stewart to freakin cry or else she'd make her cry. I mean really, shed some freakin tears, it's not like you're going to miss your tears. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both look amazing, and I think both did pretty well with their characters. I wasn't much of a Rob Patz fan in the beginning but that's just because I felt Edward was too perfect, but then he grew on me, and although there are still scenes where he isn't as gorgeous as Edward is supposed to be, he made it work, so gotta give him points for credit. I loved Taylor Lautner the moment he became a central character in New Moon.

Anyway, despite the fact that I was disappointed with the film, I'd still purchase the DVD, I haven't yet, but I hear that it's already up for sale online over at Tesco Entertainment, so I definitely want to look into that. I still want to complete the DVD set of all the Twilight movies, just to complete the collection. I already have Twilight, I have yet to get New Moon and Eclipse.

Maybe I should put it on my wish list this year, what do you think?

Twilight Saga: New Moon*

I realize that this post is like 2 weeks late, but I'm going to write it anyway.

So, 2 weeks ago, I forced asked B to watch the latest installment to the Twilight Saga, which is New Moon, before that I forced him to watch Twilight first, so he'll at least have an idea about how the story goes. I have been wanting to see this movie ever since Shemah showed the trailer over at her blog, Just Press Play. I loved the trailer, I loved how Jacob Black turned into a wolf and all that, it seemed amazing. You wouldn't believe how long the queue was for the movie, B and I saw it the day after it came out here, I was that anxious to see it, that I was actually willing to stand in line, for hours just to get tickets and then stand in line again just to get good seats. Luckily for B and I, we caught the last full show of the theater, so we didn't have to line up to go inside the theater, although the queue on the ticket booth was loooong, here take a look.

Although I must say, I was a bit disappointed with how the movie turned out, somehow, I expected so much more. You know the awesome trailer I talked about earlier? Well, that was it, I mean a trailer was supposed to show what you should expect in the movie, and I must say, the trailer was way better than how the movie turned out. You know the awesome scenes from the movie? That was it. It doesn't get any better than that, that was, well, that was it. Nothing more, which was kinda disappointing because I thought there would have been more, you know?

Anyway, the movie was definitely better than the first one, although for me it lacked something. I totally didn't feel Bella's pain. Kristen Stewart didn't really show how much it hurt Bella when Edward, if you haven't read the book, you'd think she wasn't that affected, but I have read the book and Bella was more than devastated when Edward left, I just didn't feel that she channeled that emotion well enough. As for Jacob Black, I think Taylor Lautner could've used more scenes, but he didn't get enough exposure, but that's just me. As disappointed as I was with the film, a topless Taylor Lautner made up for whatever it lacked, and let's be honest, he's the only reason why I wanted to see the movie in the first place. As for Edward, WTF?! Am I supposed to find Robert Pattinson sexy after going topless with that kind of body? I mean seriously? I've seen pictures of him before I watched the movie, but then when I saw the movie, I was like, "was that it?". I didn't see any abs on him, did you? I mean not like Jacob's, you can tell Taylor Lautner buffed up and was sexy as hell in the film. I didn't think Robert Pattinson gave Edward Cullen, some justice in this second film, let's see how he does in Eclipse. Sorry, but that's how I feel. As for the other characters, I expected Emily, her scars, I mean, to look much worse, cause in the book, it described it this way,
The right side of her face was scarred from hairline to chin by three thick, red lines, livid in
color though they were long healed. One line pulled down the corner of her dark,
almond-shaped right eye, another twisted the right side of her mouth into a permanent
grimace.
in the movie, Emily didn't look at all that bad, and it didn't look like the right side of her mouth was pulled into a permanent grimace. I expected it to look a lot worse, but oh well.

By the way, have you noticed that Peter Facinelli, the actor who played Carlisle Cullen, looks so much like Tom Cruise? They even sound alike. I wouldn't have noticed until B told me. The Volturi was awesome by the way, I loved how sinister they looked, I love their eyes, I can't wait to see them in the big Battle scene on Breaking Dawn, it'll be really interesting to see how the director would interpret that scene from the book, I hope it turns out as awesome as it did in my head while I was reading the book.

So anyway, I can't wait to see the third installment in the series, I am hoping that it'll be much better and hopefully Robert Pattinson will be able to give Edward Cullen some justice.

In as much as I love Jacob Black and Taylor Lautner, I still haven't changed my mind, I AM STILL TEAM EDWARD, ALL THE WAY. Why? For the simple reason that I believe that Bella and Edward are meant to be together, I believe in their love and even though Jacob is sexy and everything you'd want in a guy, the heart wants what it wants and Bella's heart is screaming for Edward.

How about you? Have you changed your mind? I can't wait to see Eclipse!

I am a Book Worm*

For those of you who don't know, I am a book worm, and proud of it.encem When I was a kid, instead of going outside and playing like normal kids do, I stayed indoors and read. Not just any book, I read novels. My favorite genres are of course fantasy, mythology, romance, adventure, history, suspense/thriller and sometimes even biographies. I read Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, SVH and SVU when I was a tween. I read all of William Shakespeare's novels, from Antony to Cleopatra to Romeo and Juliet to As You Like it to Merchant of Venice to Henry V and Richard II. I've read almost all of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles (one of my fave series of ALL time). I also love Agatha Christie's whodunit novels. My fave Agatha Christie novels are Murder on the Orient Express, Curtain and The Unexpected Guest, why? Well, because unlike any other whodunit novels, in these three, the perps get away with the crime or dies instead, either way they escape justice. Quite a twist eh?soal I love so many more of her novels, mostly the ones where Hercule Poirot (pronounced Pwaro) appears, he's one of my favorite fictional characters. I've read quite a lot before I discovered the world wide web and blogging. You can imagine how many books I own, it's just sad that some of them got lost when I moved in with B, I managed to keep some of my favorites though.sengihnampakgigi Now, because of technology, we have e-books, so there's a guarantee that you won't lose your books, call me old fashioned, but I still prefer reading a real book, you know?soal I read Twilight from an e-book reader, and my eyes hurt sometimes, but because it oozed with awesomeness, I read on. Good thing I'm a speed reader so, I managed to finish it fast. Stephenie Meyer is bloody brilliant! I think she managed to be on the same level as J.K. Rowling, don't you agree?soal So anyway, I will not bore you further with books I have read, but if you are looking for a good read and can't decide, I'd be happy to help.sengihnampakgigi Check out this quiz from blogthings. This is what kind of book I am.sengihnampakgigi

ANEticing Celebrity: Taylor Lautner**

I have been wanting to write about Taylor Lautner ever since I saw the preview of New Moon on my online bff Shemah's blog. And now I am finally writing about him!sengihnampakgigi I didn't even know that he was Sharkboy in the movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava Girl!sengihnampakgigi I mean can you blame me?soal
He went from this...

to this...

to this!lapar

OMG!hah He is so gorgeous!lapar I mean come on, you'd have to be sight impaired not to like him now!hah We fanpires (a term used by Shemah for Twilight fanatics) know him as Jacob Black, but he's real name is Taylor Daniel Lautner, he was born on February 11, 1992. He is so young, I feel so wrong to have such a huge crush on himmalu, but then again, I remind myself that technically, in wolf years he is 40 years old!jelir LOL.gelakguling I so love Jacob Black (but not as much as Edward Cullen but definitely more than Robert Pattinsonjelir) and while reading the book, I see Taylor as Jacob. He is perfect for the role. I hope to see him reprise his role as Jacob Black all throughout the Twilight Saga. Anyway, here's a music video he appeared in, it's a song by Cassi Thomson called Caught Up In You.

He doesn't exactly look hot in the video, but he looks like the dreamy boy-next-door-with-a-dark-secret type of guy, wouldn't you say so?fikir

Check out his interview with Alyson Stoner.
