ANEticing Celebrity (Couple Edition): Maggie Wilson and Victor Consunji

Maggie Wilson is a local actress/beauty queen/model/tv host. She is of British-Filipino descent. She has done some acting (on both local television and movies) and modeling before she won the title of Binibining Pilipinas-World in 2007 (Ms. Philippines-World 2007). After representing the Philippines in the Miss World Pageant in 2007, she has then been an active TV host as well as an MTV VJ. She is now set to wed Victor Consunji. I actually have never heard of Victor before now, but apparently, he's like a big time real estate agent here in the Philippines.

Anyway, everyone is talking about their pre-nuptial video, some loved it and some had very negative reactions to share. I, for one, LOOOOVED it! To say that it was unique is an understatement, no one has ever been this bold to reveal how they really feel towards their partner before they wed. I don't know about you, but that is exactly how I felt for B before I married him (I still do). I wanted to rip his clothes off and just, well you know... LOL. Love doesn't come alone you know, it's coupled with a lot of things, like lust and passion, and those are the things that actually spice up a marriage and it lessens the chances of the man to look outside of their marriage for excitement. I loved the video because it showed how much passion they have for each other. For those who said that it was "too racy" in a bad way or that it was "too sexual", I feel sorry for you because clearly, you don't have that kind of passion in your own life and have yet to feel that awesome feeling of burning desire for someone special. For those people who thought it was close to porn or something to that effect here's what I say to you, just because it turned you on (you pervert!), does not mean it's porn. It was very tastefully done and Jason Magbanua is amazing!

If you didn't like the video, no one really cares, after all, they did this for themselves and not to please the public. Just because they are famous doesn't mean they do stuff exclusively to amuse you.

Miss You Like Crazy (2010)*

What do I do when I didn't have dental surgery while I was in Manila? Well, I watch movies with my siblings. In as much as it pains me to admit it, my siblings and I love to watch cheesy movies, well, except for my sister, Coy and my brother, Drake. Joy and I love it however. So anyway, one lazy Sunday afternoon and Joy and I watched a local movie.

The Movie is called, "Miss You Like Crazy" and it stars local actors John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. I really am not a John Lloyd Cruz fan, because I don't think he's good looking. Sorry. Anyway, the title is taken from a song by Natalie Cole with the same title released in 1989, which is unsurprisingly also the theme song of the movie. Basically, it's a story about how 2 people fall in love at the wrong time. The story basically revolves around their journey as individuals trying to find their way back to each other. In the end, they manage to fix their own lives and then end up being together. The story is a bit predictable, in the sense that you know they will end up together, but what kept me watching it were mostly the "cheesy" scenes. I love a good "spine-tingler", don't you?

I don't know why the word "cheesy" is used to describe spine-tingling moments. You can check out the definition of the word on the urban dictionary here.

My fave scene in the movie was the part where Mia and Allan were talking about the twin towers in Malaysia, Mia says she loves looking at the towers because it reminds her of lovers holding each others hands. She imagines the first tower saying, "Masaya ako kapag kasama kita. (I am happy when I am with you.)" and then Allan finishes her sentence saying, "Ako din. (Me too)", while looking at her lovingly, then he throws her a what?-look and he quickly adds "Sabi nung isa. (According to the other tower.)". Eeeee! So cheesy! LOL! I love it!

So anyway, Bea Alonzo plays Mia Samonte, who works in a hotel in Malaysia. When she comes home to Manila, she meets Allan Alvarez, played by John Lloyd Cruz. Allan is an engineer who works in his girlfriend's father's firm. Mia and Allan meet in a ferry. Every time Allan rides the ferry, he comes across rocks that have words and sad faces written on it, each day is different. The first rock had a sad face on it, and the next rock he found had "Kaya ko pa ba?(Can I still bear it?)" written on it. The things written on the rock arouses his curiosity mainly because he feels he can relate to what is written because he is not at all happy with his life and with who he was with at the time. Then one day she sees Mia crying and before she got off the ferry, she left a rock on the seat which said, "Goodbye Na. (Goodbye.)", so he assumes she was going to go kill herself, but she really wasn't. He ran after her, freaked her out a bit but then when she found out what he thought she was about to do, she burst into laughter. When they got off the ferry, they engaged in a conversation where it obvious that they are intrigued and attracted by each other. Their friendship progresses and it doesn't take long for them to realize that they are in love with each other. COMPLICATIONS arise because of their feelings for one another, because Allan has a girlfriend. Allan promises Mia to end things with his girlfriend so that they can be together and he asked her to meet him in the ferry's station a day after. Mia waits. He was a no show. She goes back to Malaysia to resume work as a front desk attendant in a hotel. 2 years later, Allan finds himself checked in into the very same hotel Mia works at. Coincidence? Possible. He tries to find her, she avoids him because, 1. She has a Malaysian boyfriend and she's happy and 2. She still has feelings for him but she holds a grudge because he stood her up. Allan pursues her anyway, Mia's boyfriend proposes to her, she accepts, although he can clearly see that something is bothering her. He finds out who Allan is but is determined to fight for Mia. Allan asks Mia to run away with him. She considers it but chooses to stay with Mir. She bids him goodbye. Allan goes back to Manila. 3 years later, Allan remembers what a psychic told him and Mia the first time they met, he told them about finding each other but will only be together after 5 years. Allan is skeptical, and doesn't believe it, until he meets the psychic's grandson, so he decides to wait for her in the place the psychic told him to wait. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, Mia and Mir are set to go on a vacation to Hawaii as an engagement present to themselves. At the very last minute, Mir lets Mia go, claiming that he loves her too much to see her try too much to be happy when she's clearly not, Mia tries to convince him she's happy, but he knows better. He lets her go. They remain friends. She goes back to Manila. Allan on the other hand almost lost hope and gave up waiting for her, but then, after a few hours later, she shows up. They hold hands and they live happily ever after.

A Misleading Heart***

Recently, Katrina Halili, one of my favorite actors on local entertainment found herself in an embarrassing controversy involving a sex video.

Katrina Halili, 23, started as a finalist in the first season of a reality based talent search called "StarStruck". She didn't win, but because of her innate charm and beauty she became famous. She was actually the only one among the StarStruck group who didn't audition for the said show, someone from the show just came up to her and asked her if she wanted to join, and the rest as they say is history. She is the only Filipina to ever be in first place on the FHM 100 Philippines sexiest women list, twice in a row, for the year 2006 and 2007. Although she started out playing antagonist roles, she is a versatile actress and can also play any kind of role, which she has already proven in the many different roles she played.

This past week, she found herself in the middle of a controversy that tested her in the most cruel of ways. Apparently, a video of her and ex-boyfriend, Dr. Hayden Kho, cosmetic surgeon and known for being Dra. Vicky Belo's (the doctor of the stars) boyfriend. The first video that came out showed Katrina and Hayden dancing to the tune of "Careless Whispers" in their underwear, they said that they were rehearsing for a show, "Celebrity Duets" which Hayden was then a part of. Then later this week, another video came out, this time it was a video of them having sexual intercourse and in the video, it was obvious that Katrina didn't know that she was being filmed and she was drunk.

MY TAKE: Poor Katrina, it wasn't enough that she had her heart broken because she fell in-love with a person who played her and Dra. Vicky Belo, and after 2 years just as her career is at its peak and just as she is moving on, she finds out that the man she shared an intimate act with filmed her without her knowledge with the intent of distributing it to the masses. I can't believe people give her crap, calling her a whore or a slut. Don't act like you haven't had sex before, you people should be ashamed of yourselves, she clearly is a victim, and please, don't act like hypocrites. Puhlease! I don't support pre-marital sex or anything, but come on, let's be realistic, there are only a handful of people who save themselves for marriage, heck, I was one of them, but let's not give Katrina a hard time, she isn't a slut or a whore. She had sexual relations with a man she thought she loved and who she thought loved her and respected her, it's sad that she was wrong. Katrina is clearly a victim because her heart misled her, we've all been misled by our hearts before, let's not judge her because she fell in-love with the wrong person. I know she will get through this unscathed, stronger and wiser, like Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton or Pamela Anderson. I'm hoping that they send Hayden Kho to jail, clearly he is a pervert, Katrina wasn't the only girl he filmed while having sex without the girls knowing. Poor Dra. Vicky Belo, I can just imagine how bad she feels, she has been betrayed by the person she loves for the nth time, I hope Dra. Vicky Belo, dumps his sorry ass, if it weren't for her, he'd be nobody. I hope that the PRC does revoke his medical license and that he goes to jail. Please legislators, pass a bill that prevents perverts like Hayden Kho from getting away with violating a woman's right to keep her intimate relationships private. I hope you freakin get raped in jail you pervert son of a bitch.
