Homecoming

My grandmother who lives in California is coming home next month, her flight leaves on October 19 and she’ll probably arrive home on October 20 Philippine time. My Grandma has been living alone in the States for 9 years now and she comes home to visit once in a while, but this time, she is actually considering not going back to the States because she gets lonely. If it were up to me, I’d want her to not come back to the States and just stay here, but it can’t be denied that living in the US is much more comfortable than living here. Think about it, they have better health care benefits and I hear that not only is food better, it’s also cheaper. However, she has put her house up for sale and has already packed her things up in boxes ready to be shipped here. Since she lives alone, she has hired professional movers from a moving company like that of Los Angeles Moving Company. She has hired Los Angeles Movers to move all her stuff from her current house to her sister’s house where she’ll be staying until she comes home in October. Thank God for the likes of Moving Company Los Angeles, she doesn’t need to move all her stuff by herself, and she doesn’t need to bother any of our other relatives to help her because she has found someone reliable to do it for a minimal fee, a fee worth paying if you ask me. I have only moved once in my life and it was a killer. I have been living with my husband for 9 years now and I still have some of my things in a box, untouched and unpacked. We don’t have professional moving companies here like Los Angeles Moving Company. Here in our country, bayanihan is more common, that is a term we use when neighbors, friends and relatives help a family move to another place. People here will prefer to get anything for free, so hiring professional movers to pack and unpack your things is virtually unheard of. When I moved out of our house to live with B, I had to pack all my things by myself, can you imagine packing all my clothes and shoes, I have so many, B had to buy extra boxes and we had to make 3 to 4 trips to and fro just to get my things to our new place, and back then we had an F150, a pretty big pick up with lots of space, but still we had to make 3 to 4 trips back and forth, Can you imagine? Things would have been a lot easier if we had Movers Los Angeles around here too. Too bad we don’t. How about you? Have you tried hiring professional movers?
