Encounter with a Burglar

The kids and I spent the weekend at my uncle's place to spend some time with my sister who is in town this weekend. It has been a month since my sister and I spent some time together and we had a lot to catch up on. But the first story she told me happened to her the day after she got here. My sister lives in Manila, but from time to time, she comes up here in Baguio so she can spend some time with her friends here and of course, me and my kids. She arrived on a Friday. Saturday night she went to go clubbing with her friends and got home at around 3 in the morning. So, she got home, she freshened up and decided to surf the net before she went to bed. She made herself some coffee and was slowly walking back to the living room where she has set up her laptop in front of the t.v. but just as she passed my cousins' room, she froze. There on my cousins, Joey and Gaby's bedroom window stood a stranger, peeking inside. She couldn't scream, she couldn't do anything, she was frozen, she said that the guy's hand was on the window sill and can easily touch my cousin Joey because his bed was nearest the window. Although the windows had grills, she still feared he would grab Joey and stab him or something, so she just stood there for about a minute, before the stranger looked up and saw her. For about a minute the stranger and my sister stared at each other until the stranger broke the gaze and decided to run for it. That's when my sister finally found her voice. She screamed for my uncle who was in the other room, but it took a while for him and my aunt to awake. By the time the police arrived, there was no trace whatsoever of the stranger being there, except for a few missing stuff.

I am glad that they are all safe though, it doesn't matter how much he stole, the most important thing is nobody was hurt. Now my uncle invested in a GE security system. Compared to what the burglar took, a couple of cell phones and a compressor pump, $99 worth of GE Alarm for the entire house is worth it. Don't you think so? We live in a dangerous world and it's a good thing that burglar decided to run and not hurt my sister or my cousins. You just never really know when your home will be a target of a burglar. It's a scary thought that you aren't really even safe in your own home, thank God for alarm systems. I got a GE security system for our house too, my sister's story really freaked me out because most of the time while B is at work, it's just me and the kids at home, and if something like that or worse were to happen, the only thing protecting us is a baseball bat, which I am not even sure I can swing hard enough to knock somebody out. I'm lucky that GE Alarms are easy to install, just plug it in, put it on a console table or mount it on the wall, place the sensors on key spots in your home, in this case our sliding glass doors in the living room, our back doors and on our bedroom windows, and then give the GE Network a call so they can make sure that all the sensors are working fine and there you have it, a secure home.

Now, just in case the burglar decides to come back the GE home security my uncle installed all over the house will protect them. I hope they catch that burglar, my sister says if she sees him again, she'll recognize him, but it'll be really freaky if she ran into him again so I hope she doesn't ever have to see him again! How about you? Is your home secured?
